“Every time I’ve made a record, I’ve tried to make it different from the last one. But no matter what I do, it’s still my voice and sense of melody that tie
things together.”
James Harries is a singer-songwriter and film composer who currently divides his time between the UK & the Czech Republic. Known for his eclectic songwriting and stunning live performances, he has spent the past 20 years touring internationally (Europe, USA & Asia).
Harries has seen mainstream radio success across Europe, has amassed millions of Spotify streams and achieved widespread critical acclaim.
He has just released his 10th solo album, a lush alternative folk-pop record that is a triumph of understated grace. It has been received emphatically in his adopted country, “Album of the Week” in the major Czech music press and the single “Diamond Girl” has been playlisted on a cross section of radios (national & local), as well as in the Netherlands.
“This is my post-covid therapy album” jokes Harries “I escaped to a friend’s remote house in the mountains to record a long list of songs that I’d written over an 18 month period when I wasn’t able to tour and was recovering from an accident that left me unable to play guitar for 4 months. I intended it to be a completely solo record but then I ran into a friend from the Czech Philharmonic and got carried away. So I called in a few other friends and it took on a life of its own.”
